What do we do on these cold snowy days?

It's been quite cold and snowy the last few weeks. Plus both boys have had ear infections that required switching antibiotics, so we've been a bit isolated. We've had a touch of cabin fever, but we're trying to keep busy.

The playgym is a perennial favorite. This is a rare shot of Ben on his back (he'd rather sit up). He loves the playgym and loves it even more when big brother plays too.

Thanks to a giant sticker book from my Aunt Esther, we've had some special art projects. This started out as a baseball team picture, then morphed into a multi-sport bonanza.

Here's another sticker picture project. This is animals at the zoo. Jake even picked out plants and trees for the animals to eat. Note that one of the tigers has a giant bamboo shoot sticking out of his mouth like a cigar. Hehee.

When all else fails, bake! We made Valentine's Day cookies for our friends. Mommy got to practice her piping skills (which are essentially nonexistent). I've got a tradition to uphold - Grandma Sue made like every birthday cake I had until I was in double digits or something, and they were all pretty intricate and amazing. Anyway, we had a great time running around and delivering them to our friends (even though Mom totally biffed it like a rockstar in the Hahn's driveway - thankfully all children were secured in the car).

As you can see, we're keeping our spirits up :) Everyone seems to be feeling better now, so we're looking forward to making some library trips and playing with Lukey and Hannah and the girls. Ryan's busy with school but is around much more this semester so far, which makes life easier and happier. Jake's running around talking like a little adult and playing baseball/hockey/basketball/golf with anything he can find. Ben's first tooth has finally broken through, and more appear on the way. The antibiotics have really done a number on his poor tummy - I apologize for the grossness, but I don't think I've ever encounered so much poo in my life. And I am trying to keep up with the housework, gradually making my way through little projects around the house and biding my time until March 18th. We're also excited to be coming to Vegas in exactly two weeks, though Mommy is not quite prepared as of yet. But really, can one person ever feel truly prepared to travel with two small children by herself on a three hour plan ride? Just have a little wine chillin' in the fridge for me ;)
